What is free will in the first place? What is even a will?
To will something means to wish or desire something. If you paid any atention whatsoever to your minds internal workings you would notice that your will is something that just manifests itself inside your being from out of seemingly nowhere. Or it is a natural and intrinsic quality of your being that you can not change even if you want to. And you can not even want to change your will if the thought to change it does not 'appear out of nowhere' by no fault or merit of your own.
Lets look at some exaples. I want something. I want to fuck a woman. Why do I want to fuck a woman? Because my brain is wired like that of a straight man. Or more simply because that is my desire. Why is it my desire I dont even have to know but it is there. My 'will' in this regard is by no means free. Even if i wanted to become gay I could not.
Lets try something else. Say I am a bad person and I steal. Why am I a bad person? Did I create myself like this? Its likey a combination of genetic and enviormental factors that made me like this. "But Panzram this is bullshit that criminal can just choose to stop being a criminal whenever he wants to". First of all he can not even want that unless he wants it. That "will" to stop being a criminal would have to first appear in his mind as a thought before he decided to act on it or not. And we all know how thoughts appear. No one can choose them. Then he would have to consider the thought and decide on it based on his existing personality and proclivities that he himself did not in any way create and that created him.
I can do what I will but I can't will what I will. I can choose my actions but not my desires. To say there is any freedom in this is to be totaly detached from any reality and self observation and is only propagated by religion.
