What is free will in the first place? What is even a will?

To will something means to wish or desire something. If you paid any atention whatsoever to your minds internal workings you would notice that your will is something that just manifests itself inside your being from out of seemingly nowhere. Or it is a natural and intrinsic quality of your being that you can not change even if you want to. And you can not even want to change your will if the thought to change it does not 'appear out of nowhere' by no fault or merit of your own.

Lets look at some exaples. I want something. I want to fuck a woman. Why do I want to fuck a woman? Because my brain is wired like that of a straight man. Or more simply because that is my desire. Why is it my desire I dont even have to know but it is there. My 'will' in this regard is by no means free. Even if i wanted to become gay I could not.

Lets try something else. Say I am a bad person and I steal. Why am I a bad person? Did I create myself like this? Its likey a combination of genetic and enviormental factors that made me like this. "But Panzram this is bullshit that criminal can just choose to stop being a criminal whenever he wants to". First of all he can not even want that unless he wants it. That "will" to stop being a criminal would have to first appear in his mind as a thought before he decided to act on it or not. And we all know how thoughts appear. No one can choose them. Then he would have to consider the thought and decide on it based on his existing personality and proclivities that he himself did not in any way create and that created him.

I can do what I will but I can't will what I will. I can choose my actions but not my desires. To say there is any freedom in this is to be totaly detached from any reality and self observation and is only propagated by religion.

as water as it is it needs to be said again since faggots will not stop with 'muh free will'
only redditors believe free will and they wont stop because they need it to be true in order to live their miserable lives

same thing with blue pill people who think personality matters

That's not what free will is about, it's simply when you consciously choose between different things you can do...You can also choose to use it, or simply go on auto-pilot, most people live their life like that, they just go with the flow and rarely use their free will.

As consciously as I might choose between two options I will choose the one I desire. And I desire it because I desire it. There is no freedom or responibility there. Even if I choose the one I dont desire (as in what I would really want) out of some reason, the thought to go against my true desire came to my mind by no fault or merit of my own. And that thought inspired a new will. By definition I choose what I want in the moment. Even if it's 'something I dont want to do'. We are shaped by our thoughts and desires that we can not choose. Every choice stems from some 'will' or thought that came before the action. Why and how thoughts and desires form in us is not in our control.

Beauty was destined with great care,

The river cuts through the rock within a millennia,
Don’t downplay reality

When you understand things from a reincarnation perspective you'll get how even though YOU don't have free will, the REAL YOU did, when he chose to incarnate.

In the astral plane,

Earth, is just one of the things you can do

experiences you can have

It wouldn't be a fun, or immersive game, It wouldn't work, if you were aware of this,

However highly sentient humans, need this, to be at peace, they're too clever not to get it at all, so they need something

Otherwise it's all random and shit

there’s a thing called , sentience high iq and metacognition
Sentience is awearness. Metacognition is thinking about thinking. Changes nothing. High IQ is high IQ. Again does not change the nature of your mind. You can ponder and consider things as inteligently and as sentiently as you want. You will to some conclusion and choose something. Why did your thought process go one way and not the other is beyond your control. If you cant grasp that concept, that thoughts are appearing and diappearing on their own and your thinking takes what ever shape it takes and it can not be controled by you, then I dont know what to tell you. All great philosophers compared thouths to a river or a stream that goes and there is nothing you can do. You are nothing. Your thoughts are determening your reasoning and actions and you cant stop or change them. They will come when they will come and take what shape they will and they are 'you'.

Watch carefully the next stream of thoughts that appears in your mind and try and figure out why those thoughts appeared and not some others.

Too many words and useless philosophizing, when things are very simple...Imagine you are at a crossroad, and you have to choose between going left or right - you think about it, make a conscious decision, then go - congratulations, you've just used your free will!

Seems like a dead end

The sad thing is, we’re all humans, this body and world is a bit too small

If anything we should’ve been God himself, but seems he wants to play a game of some sort

All the best to you all

How is it free tho? It was for all I care random. I want to go left say. That was my will at the moment. It could have been right but for some reason it was not. Where is freedom in that? I am a slave to my 'will'.

Life is just the will for power . Nietzsche Said it. Free will truly cant exist its already influenced or determined what you want

There’s a limit to how many words can be created (without being nonsense)

In the same sense there’s a limit to how high your iq can get (naturally)

You see? Language, humanity , emotions and “Luck”

It’s all too restricting

Ahh....you're getting closer....I think free will, is tied with randomness, except it's not really randomness and we can consciously influence it through our soul.

We have freedom of action and that is what people confuse with the philosophical or religious free will. I can go left at a crossroads ofc if I want to. But I have no choise over what I want.

You can never overthrow god

No matter how fiercely we struggle, eternity will always elude us

Thinking 1: I will Go Right! Yes I am so free:feelsuhh:
Thinking 2: I just decided to Go Right to prove that I have a free will :feelswah:

Means you Are just the Slave of your ,,free will,,

What does it mean to exist?

Nothing, everything under God is deemed worthless and unworthy

That’s why people need that someone upstairs that knows it all, because uncertainty will eat you alive if you misstep

Idk that is too apstract and spooky involving an element of magic. Context I care for is that man is not the creator of his will or desire. Call it genetics or brain chemistry or whatever. Who we are and what we want and desire is not chosen by us. Even at the very moment of choise there is a mystery of where and why did it come from.

I believe in the simulation theory - life is pretty much like a video game and our real selves are in another dimension, observing this world through the human bodies that are just avatars. These bodies, that we inhabit can do their own thing, act through their own impulses, instincts, desires, etc. or they can be influenced by the consciousness from the upper dimension, this is where the free will is.
Scientists have searched for a long time for a soul, to see if there's any external force that can manipulate us, but haven't been able to find it. I believe that force is hidden in the randomness of quantum fluctuations that happen in the brain, latest theories seem to suggest that mind has a quantum nature. If these fluctuations aren't random, but manipulated from outside by our real selves, this is actually a very clever way to hide the fact that souls and free will exists...
