This is the same experience that myself and a lot of other guys on here are having on Hinge and etc. and ultimately I think it's pointing towards online dating having an end in sight. I've only bothered with Insta a little bit this year. The only girls who followed me back were girls I knew and was friends with in college. I messaged my first girl a little bit but as soon as the conversation approached me asking to meet up she ghosted, she has liked a few of my posts since then though. Also there are at least 3 girls who follow me who I asked to follow back and they didn't accept. Their behavior on this thing is at least as nonsensical as on the apps.

I don't have instagram and this didn't cause me any problems, but funny enough, I contacted a girl I hadn't seen in years via whatsapp and as soon as she saw that I didn't have instagram she stood me up, despite the fact that she had accepted a date and proposed the time herself.
