everyone should know it by now
say you train for fighting a dbz char, every day ur power increases by 25 without doing anything, u wait 10 days without doing anything, u will be 250 power stronger and then can tackle the dbz warrior, no need to rush it by attacking him today, you would need too many senzu beans if u attacked him now, meaning u get smarter tomorrow without even doing anything. u could also train harder by doing something but only if its exotherm , then u can do it, however effortful training drains your regeneration so u will have to focus additional days on more regneration, i just recommend doing nothing as a general rule
