crusader kings if youre more interested in roleplaying, its more about characters and dynasties and from early to late middle ages

eu4 if youre more interested in managing a country from diplomacy/economy/internal politics to war, youre playing as a country tho so not as much roleplaying - it starts at the age of colonialism and ends in the age of revolutions
