Go for 1k, unless your trying to play games at high framerates at 4k you won't need a top tier pc, just sorta overkill. If you want any ideas for a pc I would get one with one of the new ryzen gen CPUs as you can upgrade to the newer CPUs later without replacing the motherboard, if not try to get the latest Intel cpu so you won't have to upgrade for years, I would also get 16gb of ddr4 3220mhz (high speed ram works better with ryzen), a rtx 2060 super it's the equivalent of a GTX 1080 with raytracing, a SSD for your os and HDD for games and also I would get a really good air cooler for your cpu instead of a custom liquid cooler unless you know how to clean it safely.

1k is not budget you tard
it's plenty for a good pc, over for you if you need to spend several thousand to run at 4k 60fps ultra settings just to cope

I think his GPU has throttling issues

with or without monitor

Without monitor
If you extend your budget $200 more you can get a ryzen 3600 and a rx 5700xt. 1440p@144hz goodness. The only problem is the monitors run a bit expensive for 1440p 144hz at like $500+ dollars.
If you ccan't just get an rx 580 and upgrade gpu later. Don't get RTX because it's a worse deal.

1k is enough just be smart when buying parts

I personally buy some used pc parts because they generally are pretty reliable (gpu, ssd, memory)

tbh i wouldn't go for this middle of the road shit. 1440p and 144hz are noticeable improvements from 1080p and 60hz for sure, but once you get adjusted to it your satisfaction level would most likely be the exact same. it's also more expensive to maintain and going back to 1080p 60hz will be pretty painful. i would either go for a reasonable 1080p 60hz build or become an advanced gigarotter pc gaming wizard and drop tens of thousands on a build that's fully submerged in oil for cooling with 8k 240hz tier performance, and a petabyte of ssd storage for extreme fetish porn and blackpill screencaps.

I got 144hz and it still feels a lot smoother than 60. Like ik you get spoiled after going to 144hz and 60hz looks like shit afterwards, but even before then.
Like 144hz feels more like real life. There was nothing wrong with 60hz, it was smooth, but 144hz kind of feels surreal.
I went rom 60hz to 144hz to feel the difference as well. I had my 144hz monitors for like 2 months know it still feels amazing and I sweat it's not even a placebo effect.
Rx 5700xt can run 1440p on 144hz for a lot of games. I personally only need 100hz+ for games. With freesync, it all feels smooth i above 100hz. On competitive games I need 144hz for latency.
People keep on bumping up settings to ultra when high really is the same thing. I custom tweak my settings in game and have not had a problem with my 5700xt yet.
Although I know what you're saying when switching back. I was thinking the exact same way. BUt this card will last me a while (2 years atleast) until it can't play at 1440p 144hz on all games with good settings. And upgrading the gpu imo is much easier than upgrading the monitor as well so I'd rather not wait.

I just need something that runs Csgo and cod at least 144 FPS solid. I play league of legends now and then too.

at 1080p? You can get it way cheaper than lol. Don't get a 27" monitor at 1080p, looks like shit due to PPI + viewing distance.

Idk if I wanna just 1080p or get something a little better. and I had a dell 1440p 165 hz 2 years ago was a solid monitor looked nice and ran smooth. Wish I still had that set up but life’s a bitch.

1080p in 2019 LOOOOOOOOOOL

a 27 inch 1440p has the same ppi as a 24 inch 1080p one.
But the panels are better (1080p 144hz ones are tn and colors are shit) and you get a lot more room for immersiveness and multitasking.

I got a 27 inch 1440p 144hz TN panel tbh, colors aren't the best but pretty decent for a TN panel they are ok if you get a good one. I mainly got that monitor for the crt like lag when playing super smash online, it has no input lag whatsoever. It still cost me like 350 bucks tho.

is the tn panel color accurate? LG just released a really good ips monitor for $500

Not very accurate unless you calibrate it yourself. Most displays can get very accurate if you have the tools to calibrate it, they just don't come out the factory accurate

Fuck I don't want to do that lol. Are there profiles online you can use?

Yeah I'm actually using one myself that's not that bad, you just have to judge it for yourself since every monitor is speced slightly differently. I think best buy has calibration tools you can rent and use but it takes some research to figure out what you're doing.
