What can you even gatekeep?
if you discuss stuff with like 10 people in a private group
the likelihood of one of them spreading your discovery is just too high

If you do it yourself & don't patent it, someone else might discover it independently.
Best approach is to be the leading one to spread it to the masses & charge money for it, it will get patched but you'll get something out of it.


If you don't strictly prohibit the leaking of information by introducing sever punishment, it's worthless

I don't gate keep any information. Like if you asked me about anything I'll tell it to you without hiding a thing because I damn well known most people will never do it regardless
