Your skills, what do you know or do better than 99.9% of people, rank them
What areas you are highly interested in
Identify problems in those areas
What solutions can you provide with your skills (or work on those skills)
Check what solutions already exist in the market (your competition)
Check which ones are the most monetizable

For products:
Fix people's problems
Buy low sell high, if you are not the manufacturer find manufacturers
If there is a good and cheap manufacture in your country go for them, it's easier to manage but prices are higher
A good manufacturer in china or india will get lower prices but it can be more difficult to manage
The product must work and/or appear to work
Product aesthetics matter a lot
Gatekept starting step:
Don't buy inventory, don't even agree on anything with the manufacture first test if a potential product/service and advertising are good and try to optimize
Test if people want to buy, check if you can get sales and deliver late or give their money back, don't scam

For services:
Fix people's problems
Have the right procedure, equipment, skills and steps to address the problem
Reduce their problem, or eliminate it entirely
Reduce your client's expenditure and/or time or any type of value

Gatekept secret regarding products/services:
Try to sell intangible goods, it's way way way easier

Marketing:
Advertise people's problems will be fixed
Emphasize their problem, emphasize your solution
Capitalize both on the rational and emotional part
Your solution appears better than all the competition
Bait with proper relevant imaging and text, understand which factors matter on your niche and bait
Reach a big audience, spread your solution on multiple platforms
Retain customers if possible, keep selling to them
Appear as much professional as possible
Gatekept marketing secret:
Advertise discount between 40 and 60% for limited time, just up the starting price, final price should be similar or lower than competition
Show (x units sold in the last y minutes), you can fake the amounts of items sold and evaluation and reviews
Even if cuts margins a bit interested people will have fomo and are more likely to buy

Profits:
Keep or increase margins, lower cost per item/service and/or sell higher, improve product/service to sell higher
Make a big effort to reach even bigger audiences and target the proper audience
Do everything to cut on costs and time
Track everything as much as possible, write every piece of data even if you think it's worthless

What I meant is the process is easier, people might just not buy it if it's not good enough
To sell physical goods it requires more initial steps, everyone should try intangible goods, it's just easier to try in general
In terms of the average business the profits from tangible will beat it sure, with intangible you are rarely at a loss tho, it's almost no risk
