Ok. I've made an experiment.

Gematria is absolutely a correct method for finding occult clues about this mystical world.

I just searched mackerel. It gave me black death.
What is black death? It's black plague? What is black plague? It's poisoning by mercury, from fumes from blacksmiths and from burning charcoal indoors, per Aajonus' investigation. What is the defining attribute of mackerel, that which I was thinking about when I searched it in gematria method? It is it's mercury content, and how vast majority of households worldwide eat mackerel, which is a super cheap and abundant fatty fish, eat it filled with mercury, from either cooking and thereby fractionating fat molecules binding mercury and heating mercury, or from smoking mackerel with charcoal burning fumes (this is how smoking of fish is done). There is 0 difference between being poisoned by mercury from fumes, or from being poisoned by mercury from cooked mackerel or smokes mackerel, because mercury is mercury, it's just a molecule. So, it's black death in all of those 4 scenarios, no difference, exactly the same.

From this experiment, gematria gives us exactly correct associations.
