Its probably referring to the Flynn effect and how IQ has plateaued ever since most countries are no longer malnourished and have reached a state in which most of the population can reach their IQ potential. Also, immigrants from malnourished countries immigrate to well developed countries, lowering the average IQ. I highly doubt that people are actually dumber

The Flynn effect is in reverse if you read the study, meaning people are getting dumber. And the native population, not immigrants. Nigerian immigrants outperform UK white natives, UK white natives just like other euroepan natives underperform A LOT compared to immigrants.

The studys sample was not randomly selected, it was made up of volunteers. People who volunteer for this kind of online study may be different from the general population, which can create self selection bias. Because the sample was not random, the results may actually just show who chose to participate rather than true iq trends in the whole of the us population. It also did not report whether participants were second generation immigrants, only that they grew up in the us.
