I read a thread a while ago about someone saying that undergoing general anesthesia makes you retarded and you lose brain cells and IQ, can anyone confirm this or give advice for general anesthesia?

Ask them to use xenon or ketamine

Nigga what advice do you want? You just close your eyes and wake up in the post-op. Don't be a sissy

I was under GA on July 20th of last year (5 months ago)

Not at all. It's the best kind of surgery. Beats being awake for it.

You feel drowsy about an hour or two after waking up. I woke up back on the ward without remembering a thing about it. Surgeon said they had to pump me with the maximum allowed anaesthetics (1500 ml or whatever the fuck he said) that they'd be allowed to so I guess my body can't handle being chopped up so my brain must be really sensitive to any pain? Fuck knows. Apparantly they were freaking out because I was reacting too much to the pain even though I should have been in la la land. I think they end up using 3 different types of drugs to keep you under.

It's annoying because you think you'll feel good like a heroin addict does but you don't remember jack shit about it. Can't they give you like a little 'teaser' before you go under just to experience bliss? DO THEY FUCK THE SELFISH BASTARDS

I’ve gotten general and I’m fine

Lmao this is funny but no it isn’t true. You would lose brain cells and consequently IQ if you were left without being oxygenated but that’s not what happens. Once anesthesia is administered, the anesthesiologist promptly intubates you and that’s what will constantly keep oxygen flowing in your lungs and whole body just as if you were breathing on your own.

No advice needed though. Just relax. Don’t watch videos of the surgery and stress yourself out. You’ll be just fine

which surgery
