Hey guys as I've been posting about, my genioplasty plan is moving forward. I ended up getting insurance to cover part of the procedure along with getting a trusted surgeon. I just had my final consultation yesterday and was very happy. The surgeon told me at minimum he will be moving my chin 8mm forward and doesn't have the exact movement plan. In addition to this I am getting some shit fixed in my nose (deviated septum, enlarged turbinate, bonespur) which will fix my nasal breathing. My surgery is scheduled for march 26th any thoughts on how my result will look?

You are an obvious example of moderate-high bimaxillary protrusion genioplasty will help but not to the full extent of premolar extractions or anterior subapical osteotomy (aso) I'm guessing you're east asian, korean maybe lots of your people struggle with this flaw. The first photo I attached was no genio just aso. Second photo I attached was no surgery just pre-molar extractions. I would meet with an ortho to ask them about this your maxfac surgeon won't say anything about it because he wants your money from genio but doing it in your case would be malpractice imo. @yussimania

To start off im not asian or korean I am greek, mexican, scottish, and canadian but often get mistaken for asian. I been to an orthodonist when I was young and had teeth extractions, headgear, braces and alot of other work done. This left me with a good bite but a recessed chin. I talked with my surgeon about a bimax but he turned it down because my bite was fine but agreed to do a high movement genioplasty. You think it wont be enough?

I mean u have bimaxillary protrusion. Genioplasty can’t fix that. You really desperately need normalisation of the upper lip

What surgery should I look at pursuing after I get the genioplasty? I tried asking about bimax but my bite is normal and my breathing issues stem from something else.

def no genio ofc its frauded but you can still see the difference yes rhino was done as well other image is a good example. Just ask your doc for premolar extractions combined with your genio will change your movements but for the better long term

Would premolar extractions after genioplasty in the future work because my parents already signed off on the plans now they are already final.

yea 100% your chin might turn out too advanced tho

Fat graft maybe for the nasolabial folds and some type of nose surgery
