Nah you can still greatly enjoy the game without paying since you unlock a bunch of characters regardless going through the story.

but if you want certain s tier characters Or weapons they make you pay for the gacha.

They also give You tons of free premium currency since it just released

the open world map and story are huge and there’s a shit ton to do, and it’s only on the first two regions. They will be adding 5 more with way more quests and storylines and events
