Ludwig I of Bavaria alsp curated the Gallery of Beauties a collection of portraits featuring women renowned for their beauty. Most of them filled with German women who became famous for being pretty. Among them was Helene Sedlmayr a shoemaker's daughter from Munich, who became known as the epitome of Munich's beauties in the 19th century. Her portrait, painted in 1830 remains one of the most celebrated in the collection. Another inclusion was Antonia Wallinger a Munich royal court theater dancer whose beauty was immortalized in the same gallery.
