You're lazy and stupid if you know about proper tongue posture and still don't do it. After one week of forcing myself to do it, it became second nature and I don't think of it much. In fact, if my tongue isn't on the roof and teeth touching, it feels weird. It's not hard, stop being a bitch.

I can't even mew properly because of this

Mewing is so weird I think I been doing it wrong since a year tbh

It's over for narrow palate and tongue tied people

Do you think it's possible to mew in your sleep?

It should be. I tape my mouth shut at night so at least mouth is shut and no mouth breathing.

It's amazing how your tongue adapts to mewing. At the start I had real trouble bending it to the contours of my palate, especially the high vaulted part at the front. Now it seems nice and flat and sealed. I knew when I was doing it properly when my tongue swallowing started working properly. Now when I mew, I have loads of saliva naturally building up and my tongue is always gathering it up and pushing it back along the palate to the throat. Mew said that constant pushing upwards with the tongue swallow is what makes mewing effective, especially during childhood. I honestly don't think you need to hard mew if you're swallowing properly.

Another thing I noticed as I got better at mewing is that I started to notice that my palate has a taste. And it's now always nice and wet with the saliva. This shit is exceptionally good for your teeth and prevents cavities. Dry mouth breathing mouth = cavities and bad breath.

It's both normal and expected.

i dont know effective hard mewing is for making changes, but i know it works for building tongue strength so it is easier to keep jt up

I had something like this in my mouth when I was about 6-7 years old. It wasn't exactly the same but it had like, some wheel or something, so it was impossible for me to touch the roof of my mouth with my tongue, it also made me slur my words for a few years.

1. Do you think any damage was done to my bone development from that?
2. Mewing would reverse any of that damage, right?

Depends. It could have actually been beneficial for you. Its usually used to widen the upper jaw a bit to get the right bite.
I personally don't believe that mewing can change one's face a lot. But just try it out.

i cant even tell if im doing it correctly, my tongue touches the tip but how do i know if im touching the roof of my mouth

The whole tongue should be basically fully attached to the roof. It'll feel like you're sucking your tongue, so to speak. Keep trying it man, you'll see what I mean.

If you're doing it right, it will feel like you're sucking your tongue. Also be sure to keep your teeth together slightly.

I hope you are kidding because you can die, seriously

I don't know what you mean by "tip". If you're still confused, the entire tongue, even the back part of your tongue, should be raised up and pushing against the top of your mouth. It will feel very uncomfortable for the first few days, and then it starts feeling natural.

The tip is what the page i read called it (the spot behind your two front teeth), also how am i supposed to raise up my tongue lol, i just cant do it for some reason

If you open your mouth while sleeping, it's because your body literally needs that airway either you can breathe quite improperly and cause brain damage due to lack of oxygen

Ha there's some funny stuff in that thread. Of course you won't die or suffocate. Even if your nose becomes clogged. As soon as any suffocating panic kicked in, you'd wake up and tear off the tape. Your body isn't stupid.

All that shit about brain damage is not true. Your body will adapt to you breathing through your nose, oxygen uptake efficiency increases as an adaptation to the smaller amount of air.

I tried that too but when I woke up, the tape was magically gone and I found it taped to my pillow. Is there anyway you can get it to stay on my mouth for the whole night?
