Most of the historical buildings in major cities today have steep stairs that are tiring for most people to climb, large doors with doorknobs 6ft above ground or higher, windows with positions taller than most people.
Therefore, we can only conclude that before the 19th century, the average urbanite was actually TALLER than modern humans, modern populations are just midgets and manlets who moved into cities built and previously populated by these giants.
