Hi,
I’m M19, and my girlfriend is F19. We’ve been in a relationship for about a year now.
Last week I fell down my stairs and broke my ankle, my girlfriend was at the top of the stairs witnessing this. Actually this is the first time I’ve broken a bone, or even fallen down a set of stairs, I had my shoes on and just wasn’t paying attention (never gonna do that again)
However as soon as I fell, my girlfriend turns around, puts her hands on her head and shook her head and acts disappointed. We went to the hospital to get it checked it out etc, and it turned out I had fractured my ankle at the joint. Right now I’m in crutches and the bone is supposed to heal in like 4-6 weeks
However since this has happened (1 week ago) I noticed my girlfriend increasing her distance from me, talking to me less etc, so I asked if everything was okay, and that’s when she opened up…
She doesn’t feel safe with me anymore, and doesn’t see me as a big tough man
She didn’t think my bones would break like that, cos in her mind I was invincible and would always be there to protect her, but I can’t do that anymore, or it’ll be to a less extent. Also she wants kids who have strong bones, and she’s disappointed in my genetics.
I don’t even know what to do atp, quite devastated
I do see her viewpoint but think it’s a bit too harsh.
Any advice would be welcomed, I know everyone’s gonna say “you dodged a bullet”, but apart from that?
