Girls expect me to make the first move but I'm kinda antisocial - what should I do?

I sometimes hang out with friends where there are girls I don't know. I'm not bad-looking, so there seems to be some level of interest, but it feels like they expect me to make the first move.

The issue is that I'm a bit antisocial and not the type to easily approach people, even though I'm capable of holding a conversation once it starts.

What would you recommend in this situation? How can I approach in a natural way without making things awkward, and how do I avoid overthinking it?
