Similar thing once happened to me. To start a Convo I replied laughing emoji to one of her ig stories which was a meme. She then replied it with 'didn't expect you to get the joke' but ignored the message for 24 hours. Then I replied 'what was the joke again?' (coz 24 hrs later the story was not there). Then she started explaining me the joke and had more conversations from there
