your body is your best fashion piece, make sure to be fit, try to maintain good posture in all you wear and if you have good shoulders show that through your clothes.
Quarter zips are timeless but get good quality ones some can look trashy, knitwear also always looks good.
Also make sure your proportions are good, generally you dont want your shirt to be baggier than your pants
some of the outfits ive gotten the most compliments in are simply a good pair of dark colored good fitting jeans and a tight t shirt, dont overlook simplicity

i have 2 navy quarter zips, one beige and one white, usually i just wear a normal t shirt under it that compliments the color (just go with black or white) and if i ever want to look more formal i just put a collared shirt on under instead. this works with basically all pants except maybe sweatpants and similar things because that clashes, good fitting is the most important thing with pants you want some basic colors like black, navy, blue, white beige. i have one pair of good dress pants, i like loose fit jeans so thats mostly the jeans i have and some sweatpants but important you dont want sweatpants that are cuffed around the ankle go with the ones that are loose
mostly what i recommend is things that pair well with eachother so if you have these things you can mix everything basically, also i dont know if this is what is liked in usa but where im from this is what you want
