I’ve been on a gluten free diet for 21 full days now. In this thread will discuss the results I’ve been experiencing. I’d also like to add I have not been drinking or taking any other substances (not even nicotine) since October 4th.
With that being said let’s get into the results.
Weight and the gym
I’ve lost about 2.6kg since the gluten free diet began. Most of it is probably water weight but I can visibly see my body getting leaner and my performance increasing. I curled for the first time 5x 16kg per arm which I haven’t done in more than a year. Prior to the gluten free diet I had been stuck on 12kg for 8x.
For the first two weeks of the gluten free diet I ate fried meat which contained a lot of fat and as a result I didn’t see my weight increasing and my face felt very oily when I woke up. Earlier this week I swapped to boiled chicken and I’ve been feeling so much better. I’ll still eat meat but at most 1-2 times a week and not everyday like I did the first two weeks.
Appearance
As I mentioned in the part above my skin felt way more oily when I woke up after having ate meat with oil in it. Now that I’ve skipped to chicken I don’t wake up oily to the same degree.
My face has also shed a bit of acne especially around my nasolabial folds. A bit of hyper pigmentation has also left my skin complexion but it’s too little to make conclusive claims.
Overall mood
I began waking up 5AM to go to the gym within the first week of the gluten free diet. Usually I’d slump around in bed for about 30 minutes before getting up but that doesn’t happen nowadays. I’m up within the first 5 mins of my alarm going off.
My hormone levels are much more stable. I don’t walk around with random cortisol spikes like I used to, and my energy levels don’t randomly plummet. I’m way more stable mentally. People I’m around have also commented on this and I can feel a surplus in energy. It used to take everything from me to just get through the day, but now I’m coasting through everything with ease.
