I’ve incorporated this into my routine lately and it’s working very well. A 6oz bottle of this shit is 5-6 dollars at Walmart. It should last you quite a while, since you only use a few drops at a time.

Glycerin is in a lot of skincare products/moisturizers already. It’s a humectant, performs the same function as hyaluronic acid, except cheaper and arguably more effective. Humectants attract moisture so you have to use them correctly to get the intended effect.

A lot of people use glycerin to make their own face sprays or serums (mixing it with rose water in a spray bottle etc) but I can’t be fucked to do that. I just wash my face and while my face is still damp, mix 2 drops of glycerin with a pump of moisturizer and apply to wet skin. Sometimes I flick more water over my face and rub it in to pull more water into my skin.

If you want you can lock it in with an occlusive like petroleum jelly and sleep with that on your face. Your skin will be very soft and smooth when you wake up. Great for skin barrier maintenance or combatting irritation from actives (retinoids, acids, etc)

True, especially effective with HA acid, I go for 7+ layers until my skin is really plumb.
The function is slightly different than HA tho, so not really useful to replace it.

Why do you need more insight, nigga? Glycerin is already in a shit ton of moisturizers. All I’m doing is adding more into my moisturizer to increase the hydrating effect

Good thread. Any reason to add this if your moisturiser already has glycerin?

True, I have talked about it before

Some moisturizers/creams contain other humectants, you can do both
I sometimes use glycerin as a base at night, in the morning your face will be looking wet for a while
Just using glycerin as the advantage of not containing other goyslop
