good question: if we look at things that determines attraction (and under consideration of the
handicap principle and sexual dimorphism) we can put most things into 2 broad catogeries:
1. unisex features: things that look attractive on both genders. normally honest signals of health and function. hair, symmetry, limbal rings, forward growth, healthy bodyfat level and bmi.
2. sex related features: what do men find attractive (except the unisex features described under 1) in women? signs of youth, fertility and high estrogenic features. rather large eyes, big eyelashes full lips - things like a big chin not so much.
now what find women in men attractive (except the genera features described under Nr.1)? Well here it becomes a bit tricky. Because research shows that women actually dont prefer the most masculine face (an ogre face) but rather a good mixture of estrogenic, prettyboy and masculine features. this also called the multiple motive hypothesis. dark triad high t masculine bad boys with a tendency to violence on the one hand have everything that you need to get ressources, suceed in fighting etc (so you want that for your offsprings) but on the other hand tend to not care about their offsprings, more likely to cheat etc. alpha fucks beta bucks is a possible solution for that but apparently that doesnt work always out well so evolution made a compromise and implemented that feature into a womans brain.
and we can see that if we look at eye areas of attractive men too. jude law, cavhill, theo james, dane dehaan and jamie dornan have completey different eye areas then jordan barett, andreas eriksen, chris hemsworth, sean opry, billy bob thornton or dellisola alessandro
yet girls find both sean oprys and cavhill eye area attractive. why? because cavhill combines his puppy eyes with a dom jaw and hence has a perfect combination regarding to multiple motive hypothesis
thats why it would be way more complicated to do a study like it was done on the op because they are at least 2 different eye types in men that can be attractive even though they look quite different. simple picking attractive men and morphing their face together to create a "perfect" eye area wouldnt work because of that.
