You just gotta do a year or what? It's a good experience. If I lived in a country with mandatory service I'd do a year or two no problem.

Hey do you guys have a universal income? How does that work? Is it enough to actually get a decent apartment, raise a family and not ever have to work?

If you don’t work, the government won’t pay you that much (not like in germany) But you’ll be able to live. Not sure but I would say you can’t comfortably raise a family without working.

Well I've supported a wife and kid all myself in USA for the past 5 years without any benefits, mostly working only 3 days a week as an associate at a fast food restaurant. Most people would say it couldn't be done. I'm willing to bet I could live much better doing nothing in Switzerland with whatever the govt would give me.

Probably yes if you know how to, cost of living is not even that much higher than in the US
