Oh I know absolutely nothing about it myself, I am sure you could be right. Europeans are generally genetically closer to each other than other continental groups are to one another.

That seems accurate. Yes, northern Iran is populated by Azeris. On PCA plots, they cluster with Ottoman Turks. So that’s a good guess.
