Some bhais asked me to go deeper since the first thread wasn’t enough and most didn’t understand how houses actually work. So here’s a proper breakdown in simple words.

Houses​

Your chart has 12 houses. First house always starts at your lagna (ascendant), which depends on exact birth time. If you don’t know your exact time, don’t even bother, because everything shifts from there. Each house = a different area of life.
When you interact with your birth chart for the first time, you may notice that some houses are hosting a lot of activity, yet other houses appear sparse or empty. This is normal.
If you add up all the planets in our solar system, plus the two luminaries, you’ll get a cast of 10 main characters: the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Meanwhile, there are 12 houses in your chart. Following with Rahu and Ketu.

1st – self, body, how people see you
2nd – money, family, speech
3rd – siblings, communication, effort
4th – home, mother, roots
5th – romance, kids, creativity, studies
6th – enemies, debts, health problems
7th – partner, spouse, relationships
8th – sex, death, secrets, transformations
9th – philosophy, father, higher studies, travel
10th – career, status, ambition
11th – gains, networks, friendships
12th – losses, isolation, spirituality

Signs in Houses​

Each house has a zodiac sign on it, and that sign colors the house. Quick rundown of sign energy:

Aries – raw, fiery
Taurus – stable, material
Gemini – curious, restless
Cancer – emotional, protective
Leo – pride, creativity, king vibe
Virgo – analytical, critical
Libra – balance, charm, diplomacy
Scorpio – intense, hidden, sexual
Sagittarius – adventurous, seeker
Capricorn – cold, structured, ambitious
Aquarius – outsider, futuristic
Pisces – dreamy, spiritual

Example: if your 7th house (relationships) falls in Libra, Venus rules it → your love life runs on beauty and balance. If 10th house (career) is Capricorn → Saturn rules your career → hard grind, discipline, late success.

Ruler Planets​

Each sign has a planet ruling it. That ruler carries the flavor of the house wherever it sits.

Aries/Scorpio – Mars
Taurus/Libra – Venus
Gemini/Virgo – Mercury
Cancer – Moon
Leo – Sun
Sagittarius/Pisces – Jupiter
Capricorn/Aquarius – Saturn

So if your 2nd house = Taurus, Venus is in charge of your money/family. Where Venus sits in your chart shows how you deal with that area.

Numbers in Charts​

Online charts show numbers inside houses → these are just zodiac signs. 1 = Aries, 2 = Taurus … 12 = Pisces.

If your 1st house shows 7, that means your lagna is Libra. Then houses go in order → 2nd Scorpio, 3rd Sagittarius, etc.

Closing​

Astrology isn’t just random woo. Once you know houses → signs → rulers, you can start tracking how planets actually play out. This is the skeleton. From here you can move into aspects, conjunctions, transits.
