So I’m sitting at this table full of soccer jocks (yes, they exist) and a few LTBs. It’s a pre-existing friend group, and I’m basically the new one and the only person there with any Black admixture besides one other guy. I don’t talk much I just chill, listen to music, maybe throw in a comment when any soccer debates start (i’m a barcelona fan so im biased ofc)
There’s this one guy, though fidgety, insecure, always scanning the room for approval (pretty much the stereotype for guys on this forum but he’s pretty average looking) and seems to hate me for no reason. Funny thing is, he doesn’t even play soccer or watch it, but he jumps in whenever people start trolling me for being a Barça fan.
In biology class, I happen to sit near his crush who, by the way, is dating another guy at the same table. (Don’t ask how I know. You can just tell.) We don’t really talk I mostly just ask about homework and cheat off her work
Today we get assigned to groups, and it ends up being me, him, and the girl. I leave to work with another group that’s actually doing the assignment. I leave a paper on their desk one I’d been looking over and when I come back to grab it as a reference, he snatches it, says, “No, we’re using it,” tells me to fuck off, and even wags his finger at me like i’m a kid
At lunch, I catch him across the table, mean mugging me like he’s still pressed about it. but i play the nonchalant gimmick as usual and ignore him
what the fuck do i do, how do i break into a friend group if one of them hate me
