I had an IQ test when I was a child and scored 143, but I'm curious about something unfortunately, I lost that document three years ago. Can people's IQ increase or decrease over time?

i went from 135 when tested at ~10 to 128 last year, its definitely possible
either that or the test is less stringent for children

I've improved my knowledge about steroids and sports, and even my English has gotten a bit better so yeah, there's some nonsense too

but bad sleep or goyslop or stress or screens might have lowered it ( most likely )

Yes, I feel that way sometimes too, but I try to be careful my screen time is usually around 4 to 5 hours

depending on the test you took it’s very likely it was innacurate

Yes, I know, that's why I asked this I can direct myself really well in things outside of schoolwork, but when it's something I'm not interested in, I act like I have 3 IQ That's why I'm afraid if nothing interests me in the future, I'll just be stuck there like an idiot

I don't know of course, it might not be a perfect test, but I was tested by doctors in a hospital

Yes iq changes over time in either direction so it's definitely different now. Then there's applied intelligence which most people aren't aware of, you can have 150iq and operate on a 110iq level due to a bad environment

the lower your age is the higher you'll score at IQ tests, this is normal. You should only take IQ tests after 17-18 for more accurate results.

So, what do you think is the biggest difference between people with high intelligence and people with low intelligence?

Because my dad noticed I wasn't like other children I started understanding things that kids learn at a later age when I was 4 or 5. Around age 9, I had B1 level English, and I could converse with an average person in Russian, besides Turkish being my native language

"I think I don't need school of course, going to a school like that and finding a job after graduation or people's perspective of me might change, my social status could increase, etc. But instead of wasting my time there, I could also learn these things on the internet; after all, everything is available on the internet.

Other forms of knowledge definitely increase with age but the raw mental processing power that IQ tests for is liable to decrease. It’s been proven that stress lowers IQ, and also I’d say there’s a “use it or lose it” aspect going on over time where your brain rations intelligence for what you need on a daily basis.

I too took a professional IQ test when I was about 12-13 and scored very high. I remember in the middle of it the doctor read a 10 digit number to me. And then he continued with some other unrelated questions. And then he had me tell him the 10 digit number again, backwards. And I got it right, which he said that I was the first person he’d ever had get it right. But this is the exact kind of thing I don’t know if I could repeat today.

But on the other hand, IQ tests for the maximum so if you can get the questions right even once, it shows you can reach that much brainpower. Which might be recoverable if lost over time.
