Gym

Obtaining a muscle mogger physique
Low risk of injury
Get connections with people

Kickboxing

Honing fighting skills, a functional trait
Obtaining a lean fighter physique
More of a healthmaxx than the gym considering how much cardio and constant movement is required

depends, what for?

I'd hit the gym first to gain some mass in order not to be thrown around in training tbh

like healthmaxing / life quality maxxing
That's tough to say really. With kickboxing or any striking art for the matter, you will get more injuries/broken bones whereas for lifting injuries don't happen as much provided you are sensible at the gym.

I think if you care about health maxxing, your best bet is to pick up something like BJJ (lower risk of CTE, and injuries). Why? BJJ or any sport for that matter, is a good form of cardio and will keep you healthy.

Gym is good for looking good, but if you want a long life, do cardio.

Plus knowing how to fight is a big skill i think

…. for gym or for kickboxing? 5-6 days training is pretty standard… and 3x/wk is generally regarded as a ‘minimum’ for strength training progress.
3 days of gym full body training + 2 days of kickboxing

It is too much physical training and I can't dedicate this much time to it, it got to be one or the other. I could train home calisthenics along with kickboxing though, which is not that taxing and time consuming as 3x gym full body training along with kickboxing.

any powerlifter, bodybuilder, or strongman will mog the living shit out of an mma figher lmao, kickboxing is mostly shit anyway esp if u live in a white suburban area and is just marketed to empower 40 year olds who struggle with walking on a treadmill

Lift 3 times a week, martial arts 3 times a week boom. Optimally make one of the days a double training session day, 5 training days a week, other 2 rest days just run or hike or walk

Monday, Wednesday, Friday = full body gym
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday = martial arts
Sunday = rest

You could try it as that at first, maybe youll find out combining training sessions and having more rest days will help you recover better. Works on an individual basis

Why is boxing bad?
Im talking about most of the local classes you’ll find in suburban towns. The instructors/coaches are bullshit artists and will take your money to teach you bullshit. The best gyms you’ll be able to get into for any martial art are the grimy hardass hole in the wall places, pretty much the only “high class” good martial arts gyms are the performance institutes basically reserved for pro athletes lmfao

got to work and socialize too, that's why I prefer training ideally for 3 days a week

In martial arts classes you already socialize with other guys, plus its less then 2 hours, not like it takes your life away jfl

bodybuilding/powerlifting 3 times a week 2-3 martial art training a week (if you have the money)
Try to do kickboxing or karate or muay thai 2 days a week then the remaining 1 do MMA

You can end up with persistent joint problems from the training, and CTE from the sparring. There are safer ways of getting whatever health benefits kickboxing offers. The only reason to do it is if you're actually into kickboxing or fighting.

For health, do a strength training program, ideally with a little cardio mixed in, or another sport like swimming or cycling.
