I had bimax already. I still look recessed from my side profile and the width of my jaws is a bit too small when compared to my upper third.

Given that, what can I do? I am thinking a chin wing osteotomy is the best solution? I could drop down my ramus and get some mandible projection. the other issue is my surgeon didn't do a genio, so that may be what's causing the recessive profile view.

Yep, it's my chin. Just sent off images to another surgeon and he says the chin wing could easily fix this but I should've had some genio with my surgery. Also thinks my mandible could be moved just a tad more given my upper jaw placement now.

time for another surgery I suppose!

Kind of hard to tell you without pictures. And how will a chin wing fix a recessed chin? It doesn't advance the chin forward. It widens it.

Unfortunately this thread is useless without photos. How do we know you weren't terribly recessed before surgery or that it simply happened that you had had very small movements?

Easy solution, get an advancement genioplasty. It is way less brutal than bimax so you’ve already made it thru the most challenging part of your journey. Jaw width could be fixed with implants or filler. Step 1 try the genio and see how you feel then.

He'll do both a chin wing with some genio.

I wasn't significantly recessed beforehand, but it was bad. I wasn't getting significant movements. Zero plans to ascend to some high tier threshold. My only goal is to be average looking.

That's actually very sad. Imagine going through hell and then you realize that you didn't ascend so much as you wanted.

I think it was a miscommunication between you and your surgeon. You shoulda told him before the surgery that you would need x mm advance forward for jaws and that would have solve it. The way I've done it is I jut my jaw to see how I would look if my jaw are pulled forward and I basically simulate how I wanted the result to be.

Did you actually had a conversation with him before the surgery and discuss about how many mm he was gonna pull your jaw forward?

did you have surgery? i wasn't sure how many mm and I trusted him because he is known to be a pretty good surgeon (mentioned online a lot). I basically told him I need a decent bit of projection of my jaws and he did the ceph analysis and said I could have projection but was worried about overadvancement of my upper jaw. He gave me a morph that looked good in my eyes.

If you had bimax then you should be good for an implant.

i don’t think that would work would it? His maxilla is held together by screws and facepulling wouldn’t stimulate bone growth just rip the screws out of the bone

MSE literally won't be able to work unless the screws are removed. Even after removing them, the cut would significantly change the results of expansion. Doing MSE+FM after jaw surgery is fucking retarded.

Quick question your high iq is it possible to redo bimax after you done it the first time say you have a really recessed jaw and want some more forward growth if you waited a few years is it possible to redo bimax ?

post before after. People here are laughing but obviously if your surgeon advanced your jaws by 2mm, you will still be recessed lol. In my case, I will go for bimax (8mm) + CCW rotation + chin osteotomy (3mm)
