So today, I will tell you everything about my experience with handmaxxing, something that is imo very underrated. Why?
1. You show your hands 90% of the time, unless you wear gloves or if your hands are in your pocket (and hands in pocket are a confidence mistake most of the time)
2. Our hands are a massive part of your body language, we use them a lot when talking
3. Hands are easily changeable and can look either really good or really bad and are an important health indicator
4. I don’t hear a lot about handmaxxing
Picture this:
You’re sitting in class, or working out in the gym, next to your crush and she takes a glimpse at your hand and sees the digusting, cold, unhealthy, poorly put together hands you have. Don’t you think that might change something? Or maybe you like holding hands with your gf.
Btw, it’s my first time writing a guide, feedback and bookmarks are much appreciated. Pls don’t hate I’m trying to help people.
NOTE: This guide is mainly for males, but females should and could take things from this guide.

Examples of BAD hands
Examples of GOOD hands
Nail biting
I’ve personally struggled quite a bit with this issue. In my opinion, the 3 main reasons that you can bite your nails are:
Boredom:
Most times I started biting my nails are when I was bored, to fix this issue I’d recommend just finding another distraction like a stressball, a pen, a coin (these can irritate your hands tho), a rubber band, fidget toys, pop it, etc. Or just keep yourself busy with your mind. Be careful when watching videos, studying, falling asleep or waiting, as these are the situations where I liked to bite my nails. Also, make sure you don't go from biting nails to something else bad (like pulling out hair).
Stress:
Now, this is quite a bit harder to fix, but also the most worth it. There are so many guides on lowering cortisol (stress hormone) and being calmer and stuff. Just search on YT or this forum. You could replace it doing something else but js fix ur stress instead.
I personally just like to do meditation and breathing exercises.
Irritation:
Not going to lie, I’ve had basically zero experience with this issue, if you’re reading this and you do; please drop it in the replies. If you have this issue, it’s probably because of dry skin or pressure. To fix dry skin, use the following hand creams: Eucerin UreaRepair Plus, CeraVe Repairing Hand Cream, or Neutrogena Norwegian Formula. These are hand creams that have the right ingredients and are meant to repair the skin. Avoid washing with very hot water and DYOR regarding your hand soap (more on this in the hygiene section). Also, wear gloves in the winter or in cold temperatures. (All this information is from chat)
Dirt under nails
Example of what I mean:
How to REMOVE:
What I like to do, is pull out a staple out of a paper (it’s easy, go to the back pull up the rods or whatever and pull out at the front) and just go under my nails and remove all the dirt. This is like not the most hygienic method. Instead, u should use a toothbrush if possible or a nail brush. Or make your hands warm and that’s supposed to lose the dirt too, but for me it just made it stuck further into my nail.
How to PREVENT:
I remember when I was trying to fix my nails that I did this the day before, but the next day.. it was ALL back, and unless you want to remove it every single day, you have to find and eliminate the reasons it gets caused by:
Nail cutting
On average, fingernails grow around 3 mm per month and toenails around 1-2 mm. It can genetically depend tho, so just see for yourself how fast/slow they grow. The recommended amount of cutting is 2 weeks for fingernails and 6 or 7 weeks for toenails (it's a year old stfu). I do them after showering, use the small nail clippers for hands and larger for toes. I’m sure you all know how to do it and otherwise search yt.
Hygiene
NOTE: I’m not a specialist, all information was gathered either online or from personal experience, seek medical advice if unsure and DYOR.
Basic rules:
Hand lotions and creams:
Conclusion:
Just use hand lotion or hand cream if u have dry hands and do the basic rules, most of this you don’t need to know (i didn’t know it before either) and if u feel problems with a product change it and once again DYOR
Fat loss
If you have a high BF, your hands could look like this:
There are so so so many guides and ways to lose fat. I personally am an ectomorph. I understand it’s not easy but I won’t really give you any information. Also not all fat people’s hands look like this.

Hand warming
If your hands look like this:
It’s because of the temperature of your hands. Obviously, these are cold hands. They should only be a problem during winter or autumn in colder countries, like mine. These hands are obviously unattractive, which we do not want.
The main fix for this is to wear gloves, but gloves can be a fashion mistake and you might still have cold hands. Here’s a quick routine.
Now do this until your hands are warmed up, should be 2-3 sets. Do everything for at least 15 seconds each.
Veiny hands
Veiny hands are so sexy and masculine and attractive, first get to 10% BF or you’ll never get them.
Causes of vascularity:
Hand workout (muscles)
Don’t overdo this, or it will cause your hand to be less flexible.
My main inspiration for this:
Anatomy of hand muscles:
Warm up: (important for preventing injuries)
Needed equipment:
hand gripper, stress ball, rubber band, book, dumbbells, bowl of rice (optional).
This is my workout, I do it once per week. If going heavy make sure you keep in mind that you might have difficulty writing/typing after the workout, definetly the first few times.
Measurements and proportions
This is similar to the face ratios, these are the ideal ratios for your hand. There is not much to change about, I also don’t know much about any hand surgeries. It’s for aesthetics and some people can find it interesting.
Index to Ring Finger Ratio
Men: Ring finger slightly longer as index
Women: Equal to each other
Proportions of finger to palm:
1.6 to 2 times the length of the palm
Finger shape
Knuckles shouldn’t appear as swollen or bony
Rounded fingertips are softer
Long, slender, and slightly tapered are seen as elegant
Palm width VS length
Palm width should be 70% to 75% of the palm
Nails and cuticles
Slight oval & round shapes look natural and healthy
Cuticles shouldn’t be too dry or ragged
Skin and veins
Even-toned skin is much better
Slight but not over vein appearance
These all combined can make a big difference in how attractive a hand is perceived, which is why I wanted to add them to this thread.

Accessoires
Accessories are an easy way to add contrast and attractiveness to your hands, arms and overall style.
An important factor in this is to keep in mind BOTH of your hands during styling, if you copy the same accessories on each side, it will look very bad together. Also keep in mind: your skintone as contrast is game here.

How to PREVENT:
I remember when I was trying to fix my nails that I did this the day before, but the next day.. it was ALL back, and unless you want to remove it every single day, you have to find and eliminate the reasons it gets caused by:
- Dead skin cells: just make sure your nails are healthy and not too long (more on the hygiene section)
- Dust: don’t wipe off dust using your hand as it will get stuck, just use a dust wiper or a tissue
- Fabric fibers: these come from sheets, pillows and clothes. Just make sure you wash them enough and keep overall hygiene, if it’s during sleep here’s my biggest hack and the main one for me that changed my nails:
- WEAR GLOVES WHILE SLEEPING: I know that this sounds like the dumbest thing ever, but there are people who tape their mouth too so (for nasal breathing, kinda valid but alr). This will prevent any dirt from getting under your nails for basically half the time. Make sure you use BREATHABLE, COTTON gloves tho as your hands will sweat too much and be irritated otherwise. Also wash them every single day.
Hygiene
NOTE: I’m not a specialist, all information was gathered either online or from personal experience, seek medical advice if unsure and DYOR.
Basic rules:
- Wash for at least 20 seconds, ideally 40.
- Wash using soap and wash the entire hand
- Wash before and after every meal, after taking a shit and after sleeping
- ALSO after touching dirty things, touching your face or mouth, sneezing...
- Tut:
Hand lotions and creams:
- Hand lotion: Hydrates your hands, should use daily, don’t use if you have dry skin
- Hand cream: Good for cracked skin & protection, use if you have dry hands
- Hand balm/ointment: Use before sleep & during winter, only if rough/dry skin,
- Hand butter: Expensive, very dry hands, mostly cope prob
Conclusion:
Just use hand lotion or hand cream if u have dry hands and do the basic rules, most of this you don’t need to know (i didn’t know it before either) and if u feel problems with a product change it and once again DYOR

- Rub hands: switch between back of hands and front
- Shake hands: do it fast and let your finger move in the air
- Fist pumps: make a tight fist, hold 2-3 secs, open wide
Now do this until your hands are warmed up, should be 2-3 sets. Do everything for at least 15 seconds each.
Veiny hands
Veiny hands are so sexy and masculine and attractive, first get to 10% BF or you’ll never get them.
Causes of vascularity:
- Body fat: You need around 14% for decent hand veins
- Genetics: Nothing to change about, check your parents/grandparents/siblings
- Muscle mass: see training hand (muscles), muscles push up veins basically (see next chapter)
- Blood flow: more blood flow, bigger veins
- Hydration: dehydration makes veins pop more, but isn’t recommended due to many disadvantages
Hand workout (muscles)
Don’t overdo this, or it will cause your hand to be less flexible.
My main inspiration for this:
Anatomy of hand muscles:
Warm up: (important for preventing injuries)
- Wrist circles: 10 each way
- Finger stretches: hold 5 sec, repeat 5x
- Open/close fist: 15-20 reps
- Finger tip push-ups: 5-10 reps, 3 sets
- Hand gripper: 10-15 reps, 3 sets
- Towel wring: 10 twists each way, 3 sets
- Wrist curls: 12-15 reps, 3 sets
- Reverse wrist curls: 12-15 reps, 3 sets
- Wrist rotations: 10 each way
- Pinch grip: hold 10-20 sec, 3 sets
- Rubber band finger extensions: 12-15 reps, 3 sets
- Rice digging/squeezing: 30 sec, 3 sets (optional)
- Farmer’s carry: 30-60 sec, 3 sets
- Wrist roller: 2-3 times, 3 sets
- Isometric holds: 15-30 sec, 3 sets
- Finger stretches: hold 5 sec
- Wrist flexor stretch: hold 15-20 sec
- Wrist extensor stretch: hold 15-20 sec
Needed equipment:
hand gripper, stress ball, rubber band, book, dumbbells, bowl of rice (optional).
This is my workout, I do it once per week. If going heavy make sure you keep in mind that you might have difficulty writing/typing after the workout, definetly the first few times.

An important factor in this is to keep in mind BOTH of your hands during styling, if you copy the same accessories on each side, it will look very bad together. Also keep in mind: your skintone as contrast is game here.
Watch:
- Should be comfortable on the wrist, NEVER sliding around
- Metallic watches look classic and are for classic and formal wear
- Leather straps add warmth, dark leather contrasts with lighter skintones
- One ring per hand maximum
- Chunky or geometric rings give attention to knuckles and veins
- Stacked rings are hard but can give a touch to finger length
- So do slim and simple rings
- Sit loose but not on the hand
- Wear 1-3 or a thicker one for more visual attention
- Metal is more elegant
- Leather is casual and masculine
- Fair/white skin: Darker, black and silver
- Medium/olive skin: Warmer colors, bronze, gold
- Black/dark skin: Silver, white metals
