It depends on how much utility they bring to your life. You can have friends that don't add anything other than being funny, but that happiness you get from laughing at their jokes makes that friendship worthwhile. But yeah, I generally agree that if a friend doesn't bring at least something to the table, whether that be status, connections, gateway to other girls, or just happiness, it isn't worth having them. This is probably the most INTJ thing.
