I have good skin, as in no acne or anything, but I want it to be more vibrant without using something risky.

retinol cream example

I get improvements simply from moisturizing so idk if retinol cream will make that much of a difference.

It's not risky. Skin irritation is the only side effect but is almost guaranteed initially.

The active component when using Retinol and Tretinoin(Retin-A) is retinoic acid. The difference is that Retinol is so impotent that you won't get any real benefits or side effects.

lol, I am always surprised at how high inhib ppl on the internet are. We call ourselves 'black-pilled' but the 'blue-pilled' normies have 0 inhib getting tattoo's, tans, fillers, plastic surgery, teeth-whitening. All with 0 fucks given.

meanwhile the avg guy here goes through 5 peer-reviewed studies, dozens of forum posts and more just to end up being thinking it's too risky to use a simple skin product lol.

thats what i thought. almost everything on the beauty market is a scam except the basics. ironically I just bought some caffeine serum from the ordinary for my eye bags lol if that doesn't work I'll buy some .025% retina or w/e the weak percentage is since I've already decided I don't need to do anything for the rest of my face except moisturize and sunscreen, just need some udner eye coppe

Forum users are usually more self aware than NPC’s.

just get retin a. nothing else is going to do anything for your skin. there is zero risk. you make get dry skin or a rash but if it's too bad you can just stop using it.

will i get in trouble for ordering this without doctor supervision and approval?

Are we getting into the whole retinol vs tretinoin debate? Okey dokey then..

The active component when using Retinol and Tretinoin(Retin-A) is retinoic acid. The difference is that Retinol is so impotent that you won't get any real benefits or side effects.

All-trans retinoic acid is the from of vitamin A that our bodies can use. Tretinoin (Retin A) is a synthetic all-trans retinoic acid, and while it is highly effective, it also has a very high irritation potential so there's plenty of people whose skin just can't take it.
Retinol is also a retinoid, but must go through two "conversions" in the skin before it becomes all-trans retinoic acid, this is why it has a much lower irritation potential. In terms of ageing, retinol is the retinoid which has been used the longest and has the most evidence to support efficacy (when used for ageing).
I also feel that it's important to note that there's been some discussion lately as to the possibility that a "less effective" retinoid over a longer period of time is more effective than a harsher option for a shorter amount of time.

Tretinoin is going to do shit all for eye bags. Firstly, don't put tretinoin that close to your eye an secondly, there's not much skincare wise that will truly do anything for eye bags long term.

well of course we thoroughly check everything before doing anything, its an autistic trait to have! and most of us here are on the spectrum!
