Yes many times. Usually during presentations or if the teacher asked me a question I'd pretend to be confused or act like I wasn't listening. It would always shift the attention over to me so I'd say something retarded to make everyone laugh.

How well a joke hits is massively dependent on your social status.

I would know because the jokes of mine that got the most laughs were not my best, but the ones I made in the very rare occurrences that I wasn't totally isolated from the rest of the class.
No one wants to laugh with creepy loners.

in elementary school I was a «intellectually gifted» kid and got treated special with special class I had to go to, but I was tired of being treated like a nerd and picked on so I ended up becoming a ridiculously low-inhib class clown and trouble maker and I became relatively popular (the people I hung out with and ate lunch with ended up becoming jocks, literally) instead of some nerd who read books

I even had to go to a alternative detention school for a year, by the end of middle school I became depressive and avoidant, I was «emotionally disturbed» jfl.
