A lot of times the guy might be completely oblivious to it, I mean I remember that a few girls would sometimes come first to chat with me in high-school and college, and after a while they turned rather hostile to me, and I had no idea why, they probably expected me to ask them out and pursue them, but I missed the signals.
Sometimes I did ask them out, but then they would play hard to get, send me mixed signals, etc. and when I would give up on them, they would then turn hostile, some girls just want orbiters and simps to pursue them, but not give anything back, and they really hate it when the guys refuse to play their game or simply lose interest.
