Commuting just makes working that much more painful
Since I don't have a car, my current job takes about an hour to cycle to, unless I get dropped off. I usually get picked up

I saw some receptionist job near me, but I cba to update my CV so probably won't apply

I currently do security, but it's not a great security job, so receptionist would probably be easier

Commuting is literally rotting

It all adds up over the months and years

It's insane

Once you realize this , no amount of heavy metal or Kpop songs you try to tune in to on the train can strip you of this absurd new reality

Tbf, even tho I hate cycling to work, it's probably better than spending an hour driving or on public transport. I get no cardio in otherwise

If you have the luxury of cycling to work , try to enjoy it
White collar guys can't really do that if they need to not be sweaty

Most people have to sit on crowded busses and trains filled with stinky ethnics

Even the drivercels won't have that much of a brag unless they are rich
Fuel ain't cheap

Unless I find something nearer, I might get an ebike to save some time. Idk if it's worth it tho

Having to drive 30-45 minutes to work is giga suifuel I can’t imagine what it’s like for people who have an hour or more commute

I wouldn't mind an hour walk
But anything else kinda sucks
it's public transport + 15 minute walk in total
i live in a city with little nature and gray weather so it's not great

probably true.
I've always tried to find jobs that are super close to where I live.
My last job was a 15 minute walk, and my current job is an 8 minute walk.
( I could drive there in like 2 mins but I like a walk in the morning)

can't imagine having to drive there for like 90 mins, then drive back 90 mins like lots of people do. Even worse if relying on public transport!

Do you just look for any job?
I had trouble finding any security jobs nearer to me

I just get the nearby local bus. Takes me about 10 minutes or so. Honestly life is good

just any job that sounds easy and no stress. security would be fine, but it's most big warehouses and stuff where I live so I could be doing a warehouse job, or i've had some jobs where i'm like in the office parts of the warehouse building processing orders and stuff

Yeah true, commuting fucking sucks.

I did it into London for a couple of years and got burned out.

I'd have been much healthier just having a lower paying more local job. And just saving.

The free cardio from cycling is nice. Having a safe cycle route is ideal. I spend about two hours a day on my bike but it’s fine because I don’t have to do any other cardio.

If I lived closer to my workplace I would just have to go out and run or something so no real time would be gained.

Ye maybe I need to cardiomaxx

I was the happiest in my life when my job was just a 5 min walk from my house. I had so much more free time and worked an actual 9-5
