I have read that during the napoleonic wars, the average height of the french decreased by several cms, due to all the tall chads being killed in war. It could be some sort of natural regulation mechanism of the tall chads to avoid reaching the point you mention, maybe that's the whole origin of war, to kill the tall chads least we breed superhumans.
