I consider myself to be a Hobbit. Under 5 foot. I’m medically not considered a dwarf. My wife of 24 years is 5′3″. Our son is 5′10″. My two younger brothers are both 5′9″.
Yes I was picked on in school. I’ve been stuffed into a school locker. I was given the tallest stool in science class and kids laughed as I climbed it like a young gorilla.
To combat this I worked out and became the little gorilla you didn’t want to mess with (think Yoda but with fists not lightsabers & a bad attitude). I found dating not to be a problem. My girlfriends tended to be on the short side. The tallest was 5′5″. Ordering drinks sometimes posed a problem and still today at age 50+ with grey hair I get carded.
Driving……now that’s an issue. But pedal extenders do the trick. Still in the back of my mind are airbags. If I get into a wreck…..what’s going to happen? I can picture myself getting shot into the back seat (insert laughs here, go on, it’s funny).
