we know height is genetic (for the most part)
some guys grow to 5'7 while others grow to 6'4
but what differently do the bodies of taller guys do than shorter guys?
their growth plates stay open longer?
they produce more hgh?
the gene (or genes) for height, what do they exactly dictate/control?

mostly regulate how long your growth plates stay open, and how sensitive you are to gh/igf1. Also can control how much cartiledge gets turned into bone, so taller guys just have slower growth plate closure and better signaling efficiency, not more HGH. Its timing & sensitivity
