Its true that hello sound more high class tbh.

In French there is no hello i think we say bonjour but like past a certain point saying bonjour seem cold and i think "yo" is perfect for me its not too low class and it suit me, i still sound friendly without having to fake and ask "heyyy how are you" when most of the times idc that much how people feel.
