I used to have straight/slightly wavy hair.
It honestly looked euro as hell when i was young
Even though I’m mixed
(birth - 5 years old)
At 6 or 7 years old it started to thicken up, darken up, and lose some of the thin waviness that it had.
Even as old as 9, it was straight enough to do a flat side part, or just get it to lay flat in general.
At around 9-10 though, it really started to thicken up, and curl up.
It started to get really bushy.
The last three photos are my hair currently.
I really don’t like the texture.
Even when it’s really short, it’s still to thick and curly and heavy to lay down flat.
It only straightens back up when it’s wet and even then it’s still pretty curly.
My hair kinda just sticks up like a bush and i cant style it.
QUESTION:
This brings me to my question:
Is it possible to regain my old texture? If i used something like a chemical straightener, would it go back to when I was say 8-9? And be able to lay down flat again?
Also how the fuck does hair work?
Why does it just change texture?
Is it because of hormones?
If so, is there any way to limit the hormones that cause it to be curly?
The photos are in chronological order as follows in “years old”:
