Herbst appliance

I have a weak chin and jaw. Nothing debilitating but to the extent where it is ugly.
Is the herbst appliance an option?

I don't think I have an overbite or anything just crooked teeth.

Is the herbst appliance only for bite issues or can it fix weak Jaws on its own?

Will it ruin my upper jaw or have any unwanted side effects to my face?
