1) dont go into that shit with $0. A bunch of tiktok gurus tell u u can start it for freee but u will end up homeless if u statt with no money. Ur unironically probably better off buying 3 scratch tickets thinking u will get rich with no prior money
If ur a beginner then $500 minimum but i recommend $1000
2) realize that getting people to buy something is much harder than it looks
Jfl if u think going on amazon or tiktok and finding some random shitty scalp massager and reselling it with some fake reviews will even get you a sjngle sale i only managed to scratch around 35 sales the only reason i made any profits is because i priced it decently high. I had to learn this the hard way. If ur product isnt anything new or u dont atleast take a old product and repurpose it ur unironically better off gambling atleast gambling is 50/50. Even some of the top sellers on tiktok and facebook might only be getting a few thousand sales. Thats definitely a lot but u need to realize thats like top 0.001% of people
3. If u think of this as a side gig just quit now
Dropshipping isnt a typical “side gig” sure its not going to be ur main source of income but if u are soending 30 mins a day and going to eat skme pizza and think u will get success just quit now it will save u time and money
4. Organic is always the way.
Organic marketing (ads, seo, etc) is infinitely better than ads atleast at the start. If people wouldnt buy ur item in a normal video, promoting it wont increase the chances of them buying. If anything the chances might lower since they might see the ad icon and people dont like ads
If u get a few salee with organic of course u can start running ads and make more sales but if u cant break one sale with organic please dont waste ur money
5. 90% of dropshippers fail
“But ill be top 10%!!”
Nigga no you wont. You bring nothing new to the table. Dropshipping is basically gambling for autistic 17 year olds and if u dont atleast know what ur doing its not even gambling at that point its just wasting money.
Its not some shitty side hustle like selling drugs or something u can just start up and generate money its one of if not the hardest side hustles to start
6. Its a combination of 3 things
A) your product
B) how well you can market/make ads (or just copy other peoples ads)
C) concistency
By consistency i mean trial and error hours a day for 3,4,5 years or even more
7. There isnt a big learning curve
Dont buy any courses or hire any “dropship gurus” i fell into that scam countless times and lost over $700.
Dropshipping isnt a copy paste I’m just business model And anyone who tells u it is is either a retard or a scammer or likely both
Experts can mainly tell u what NOT to do and thats only to decrease ur chances of failure but anything they tell u to do is either generic info that even a toddler should know
- pick a product that sells forever
-pick a product that u can make big profits from
- pick a product that solves a problem or has shock factor
Wow no shit
And sometimes even harmful advice like
-pick a product rhats trendy
use 5 braincells. If the trend dies what do u think dies with it?
Often times if u listen to two differrnt “dropship experts” they advise completely contradictory things like one will say pick a product thats saturated and just touch it up cuz saturated means its in high demand. Another says pick a product not saturated because as a beginner u have little to nothing that u can do to bring to the table
The issue is both are just telling u things which worked for them but might not work for you
8. There is no learning curve its a money curve
Dropship gurus are better at u because they can afford to spend 500 dollars easily and test a product to see if it works. If u test it u will risk losing half of ur paycheck. The biggest curve is money curve combined with creativity not skilled
9. most ofur failure doesnt come from ur product. Ive seen a friend literally make thousands per month selling doorknobs. Ive seen another sell antidepressant gummies and get almost no sales
In theory the gummies would be better according to gurus since
- its evergreen
- it was in demand
- it solves a problem
- u cant easily find it in stores
However the doorknob guy just picked a basic product. Built a good website, spent years marketting it and is now getting thousands per month
Stop switching products every 5 minutes the most basic products are sometimes the ones rhat get the most sales
9. The best way to learn is raw trial and error dont do what other people are doing or what worked for them because it wont work for u
To sum it all up the #1 thing about dropshipping is making creatives that cause people to buy, not the product, not how much money u spend, not how many scam courses u buy
If ur a beginner then $500 minimum but i recommend $1000
