For Starters, apologies for the horrible formatting
everything i state in this thread, unless otherwise clarified, will have scientific backing and i may or may not include links to all the studies i reference, if there are any i don’t link and that sound questionable or unbelievable just comment and i will find them
**What are HGH and IGF**
Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is a growth factor produced in the pituatory (master) gland and released in a pulsating manner and its production rate is based on 2 hormones in the hypothalamus (HGRH and somostatin (a HGH inhibitor))
Insulin Like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) has an antagonistic relationship with HGH (when IGF is high, HGH is low, and vice versa). IGF is primarily made and released when HGH reaches the liver. Furthermore, it is far more anabolic and potent than HGH, meaning it helps processes like bone and muscle growth to a much further extent than HGH, also interestingly it has a similar chemical composition to insulin, yet is roughly 50-100x more anabolic
Whilst androgens do masculizine the face hardly ever will it give the same effect on bone mass and even potentially muscle mass as these growth factors. Furthermore, injecting them exogenously have far more consequences and in my opinion, not worth it for the majority of my people - especially under 21.
**What are the benefits of HGH AND IGF1**
First and obviously the most important: increased bone mass.
HGH acts directly on bones to an acute degree but its main benefit is its indirect impact on increasing the more anabolic IGF1.
it promotes collagen synthesis, important for bones as they are roughly 40% collagen
promotes Chondrocyte proliferation, which in essence makes you taller if growth plates are still open
promotes osteoblast (new bone growth) so that will impact facial structure, particularly the maxilla and mandible (if sutures aren’t closed)
promotes lipolysis (transports fat to mitochondria to be used as energy), you will use fat as ur primary energy source, making you leaner
IGF1 is where the real benefits happen:
. it is acutely produced directly in the bones, which obviously will benefit their growth due to its anabolic nature
. this also increases collagen
. binds to IGF receptors which also promotes osteoblast activity and Chondrocyte Proliferation directly which will give a more noticeable change than the less anabolic HGH
. remineralizes bones (bones are essentially) just minerals, meaning this may also make for thicker, denser bones
. aids in the differentiation of stem cells, and due to its local action on bones, this may lead to thicker and denser bones
both hormones promote tissue growth and recovery, meaning they can help promote the formation of new cells, which may be very beneficial to those with autoimmune conditions or factors like low white blood cells, meaning increased HGH and IGF may help people not catch and recover quicker from illnesses
Also, more importantly, due to this alongside their anabolic nature, they majorly influence muscle recovery and growth, meaning you can train with more volume and frequency
other benefits include better sleep, particularly more deep sleep (as that is where the majority of HGH is produced), better skin quality (more collagen) which noticeably helps with anti-aging, acute increases in test from increased IGF, better blood sugar management, sharper focus, better joint health, i could go on for days, what im trying to say: the benefits are endless
**HOW TO INCREASE GROWTH FACTORS**
HGH is primarily elevated during stressful situations, like low blood sugar, high ghrelin (aka when ur hungry) etc etc. Therefore to naturally increase it methods like fasting, found to increase GH upwards of 2000% in some studies, and sprinting - consistently found to increase GH by 2-300%, however in one study upwards of 700%. However, prolonged fasting reduces insulin, which means it has adverse affects on IGF1, which is not what you want.
Furthermore, due to the fact carbs lead to insulin which leads to IGF1, meaning eating carbs, particularly before bed, will inhibit GH release due to the 2 hormones antagonistic effect.
obviously factors like poor sleep, shit diet etc will negatively impact HGH
IGF1 is produced in the liver, meaning your liver must be fully functional to maximise this hormone, therefore i recommend taking liver health very seriously, supplements like NAC will help liver function drastically.
carbs. YOU NEED CARBS! for you keto retards JFL, you’re fucking up ur puberty. low carbs mess your entire endocrine system, not just growth factors, if your keto rope immediately. what i found best works for me is 4-6g of carbs per kilo of body weight, therefore since i’m 70kg, i eat around 420g of carbs per day, if not even more.
protein. Protein is essential in the conversion of HGH to IGF. low protein will lead to upwards of a 40% decrease of IGF production, aswell as fuck up muscle recovery, satiety etc
**What I Recommend**
i’m not going to go into peptides, but you need a GHRH like cjc-1295 or the stronger tesomorelin and a GHRP like ipamorelin or hexamorelin which have been found to increase GH by 2-500%
other supplements like MK can help, but i personally find it to be minimal compared to injecting CJC and Ipam
Ideally, you should eat your last meal around 6 and if you eat any later, don’t eat carbs. inject your chosen GHRH and GHRP, and take MK if you want around 30 minutes before bed, as the majority of these substances have short half lives (30 mins for cjc no dac and 2 hours for ipam) meaning this will drastically spike ur GH at the most important time (sleep), aim to be in bed around 10-11 but ensure you get a full 8 hours. wake up and hopefully at this time you will have around a 12-16 hour fast which will also somewhat boost GH, inject again and go on fasted sprints (30 sec sprint 90 second rest for 8 reps ideally) around an hour after injection have a massively carb and protein heavy meal to spike IGF from the massive spike of GH. Also, obviously lifting increased GH, but you want to wait until the afternoon or evening so you can have a “second spike” of GH, but you want to try and incorporate heavy compounds into your routine (bench, squats, deadlifts) as these are found to boost GH by up to 450%.
even taking exogenous GH, something i dont recommend, isn’t actually too bad for you, since ur pituatory has hundreds of jobs, unlike other glands like the testes, natural GH production will most likely not be drastically suppressed after hopping off, but you risk receptor desensitisation which makes GH way less useful.
i tried not to include much scientific talk to make the thread accessible to all, first thread so pls don’t rape me for any mistakes in the comments
