i think cortisol and suffering are what being a man is about so if you increase your cortisol, your body, in order to fight back and keep you alive, increases your testosterone as a counter response to that.

thats why you need to walk out of your comfort zone and seek out cortisol spikes. i think its an evolutionary reaction that your body produces test to protect you from cortisol or something.
