this happened in a mountainous region in the north west of England close to Scotland called Windemere in city called Lake District (Taylor swift mentions it in her song The lakes). anyways our family went there this last summer and we went hiking in the Windermere mountains, now I couldn't be assed to go and I told my dad I didn't want to but he made me.
So we hiked up the mountain trail for like 20 minutes and my legs were dying and about to give out so I had an idea to speed run this mountain trail and go ahead of my family so I did, so I kept following the trail for the next two hours and at his point my legs and lower back were so raped and aching to the point where I was crawling and the stones that were supposed to indicate the path had faded away and become more and more ambiguous so atp I stopped coping and pretending like I knew the path and admitted to myself that I was lost and it was getting darker and colder so and I didn't have any food or blankets or anything so I knew that if I didn't make it back to civilization soon id be fucked.
So I decided to crawl/walk around looking for people who knew the way back to the starting point so I scanned the horizons until I saw a blonde white woman in the distance so I crawled towards her until I was about 2-4 feet behind her and said 'excuse me' in a desperate voice, she then turned to back to me and said 'yes' so I explained to her that I came here with my family and got lost and can't find my way back, she then said 'oh no that's very bad' in a European sounding accent and laughed and smiled at me (not in a mocking but endearing way). So I asked her if I could walk with her to the starting point and she agreed.
So atp we were chatting/making small talk as we were walking together down the mountains to the starting point and she asked me where I was from and I told her Iraq and before she could tell me she was German I told her 'your German right' (Cuz I guess from her accent) and she said yeah.
So we talked about the beautiful scenery and I asked her if she's in university or if she works and if so what she does and she told me she's studying accounting and finance in university of Manchester and I told her im doing medicine. So we would sporadically make small like like this every now and then but it was mostly silence tbh.
We kept going until she asked me if we wanted to take a break and sit down in this part of the mountain that had a beautiful lake view below it, and we sat down together to rest our legs. She opened her bag and pulled out some German pastries and gave me one and she ate one herself. So we ate together and looked at the view in silence for the most part just enjoying the beautiful scenery for about 10 minutes.
After we got done we continued the walk down and small talked every now and then and on our way we saw goat with pink fur which was funny, anyways we arrived at the starting point and I thanked her and she gave me a hug goodbye and we parted ways. (she was MTB but was still cute)
At the starting point there was a mini town/village with restaurants and cafes and shops and stuff and a gift shop for the hiking trail so I sat at the gift shop and just waiting for my family to come back and sure enough my brother and my father came back surprised and happy to see me and we went home.
