First of all: he could name himself socialist or whatever, but that doesnt equate him with communism or marxism, since socialism may vary in lots of ways and not all forms of socialism are marxist(socialism itself wasnt invented by marx)
Second: he didnt live up to his words since he made various alliances with the german capitalist class and never thought about seizing the means of production. The nazis were against a certain type of capitalism: neoliberal laissez-faire(tipically american) type of capitalism, but they didnt seem to have something against state capitalist since that was their economical stance througouth nazi germany's entire lifespan.
