It's just the 1% that turn everything into a competition to grab money and consume but still people are cooperative and most people are good people

I wouldnt call it perfect, but if we cooperate more instead of competing we might create an even better societySociety is perfect and it’ll only get better
Portuguese people were giga chill compared to Americans. They were just living life and chilling.Well you are in the US, I assume people are hyper competitive and judgemental
Here in Portugal capitalism also reigns but people don't fall for it like in the US

Exactly, that's why cooperation is important, because we can build communities, create better conditions to face the harsh realities of lifeThey are only "good" in easy situations in which they aren't risking anything, and when they are face to face.
If you want to know the true nature of a person you have to see him act and behave when he is low on resources, just like when you want to know what a person truly thinks about you then you need to know what he/she says to others while you are not present. There is a reason why poor countries are full with crime and safe havens are the richer ones, once necessity kicks it's a completely different game.
There are many variants when it comes to societies. Indonesia for example is the country that donates the most money to charities yet it's definetly not rich.Exactly, that's why cooperation is important, because we can build communities, create better conditions to face the harsh realities of life
Rich countries like the US could be even better if it wasn't for the unecessary consumerism and competition, people start to act more individually and see others as threats and then its a cycle, I think competition is what made the US a great country too
