How accurate is tape measurer for height

So I’ve used a tape measure to figure out my height, it came back 184. However many guys and people I’ve met have been claiming I’m 188 or even 190 (no way I’m 6’3)

What’s an accurate way to measure height.

i just look in the mirror stand against a wall and use a tape measure, not 100% accurate but good idea of where im at. im as tall as my fridge tho so i should measure my fridge

You might be around 184 but these guys are just capping/bad at telling heights apart I've gotten guessed up to 6'3 as well (6'1)
