Need brutal honesty. I've been researching for weeks, but I still feel lost. I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I have major downward growth, and it’s destroying my entire facial structure. My brow ridge, maxilla, and orbitals all appear recessed due to this. My face lacks projection. My lower third is long, chin weak, and midface flat. It’s textbook vertical growth + recession — and it’s not just aesthetics. It’s destroying my confidence.

I’m 17 and still developing. But I’m wondering:
❓ Should I wait until 21 when growth plates close fully?
❓ Or is orthognathic surgery + genioplasty enough to fix my recession now?

My situation (visually and structurally):

  • Long face, no harmony between midface and lower third
  • Chin recession caused by backward + downward jaw rotation
  • Weak orbitals and nasal support because of maxillary recession
  • Dorsal hump looks exaggerated due to my recessed midface
  • Brow ridge underdeveloped (possibly due to skull shape or lack of forward growth)

My Plan:

1. 💄 Cope/Softmaxx (for now):

  • Haircut, skincare, posture work, and fat loss
  • Trying to fix sleep schedule and spike natural HGH through:
    • Sprints, heavy compound lifts, sunlight, deep sleep, collagen, etc.
  • Nose breathing only, slight mewing (I know it won’t save me but it’s free)

2. 🔨 Hardmaxx Plan (My main concern):

  • Double jaw surgery (bimaxillary orthognathic)
    • Le Fort I advancement for midface projection
    • BSSO to rotate and bring mandible forward
  • Sliding genioplasty
    • To add length and projection to my weak chin
  • Possibly rhinoplasty later, but some say the Le Fort I will fix the nose angle + tip enough

My Questions:

  1. ❗ Will double jaw surgery + genioplasty truly “ascend” me or is my case too far gone?
  2. ❗ Is there ANY chance my downward growth could reverse naturally if I max out GH and posture until 20–21?
  3. ❗ Should I wait a few more years or book consultations now while I’m still somewhat developing?
  4. ❗ Are there facial implants or orbital implants for the upper third that help orbital recession?
  5. ❗ Who is the best user on here to DM about surgery and aesthetics with my face type?

👀 Also Looking for:

  • Suggestions on non-surgical routes that could help
  • Honest critique of whether I’m low-tier normie or worse
  • Tips on how to find the absolute BEST surgeon (UK preferred but I’ll travel for a god-tier surgeon)

Any advice would be really appreciated. I want to fix this before my early 20s or at least know if I should wait. Thanks in advance.
Apologies if I have done anything wrong this is my first thread so getting the hang of how things work on this forum.

  1. ❗ Will double jaw surgery + genioplasty truly “ascend” me or is my case too far gone?
Unless you have any issue with your bite (crossbite, under, overbite) you likely won't get or need double jaw surgery, that's usually only reserved for functional issues and if you were to get it without any problem, you'd have more issues. Genioplasty or chin implants however could help you.
  2. ❗ Is there ANY chance my downward growth could reverse naturally if I max out GH and posture until 20–21?
No. By 17 the facial remodeling you can do is minimal and won't alter your face in any meaningful way.
  3. ❗ Should I wait a few more years or book consultations now while I’m still somewhat developing?
Well, if you go the genioplasty route, that's going to take between 8-10k, so really, you're going to have to wait a few years regardless unless you already have savings or a job.
  4. ❗ Are there facial implants or orbital implants for the upper third that help orbital recession?
I don't think your orbitals are recessed, I think it's your maxilla (also that's the middle third/midface, not upper third). For an unideally projected maxilla, there are surgeries you can do, like lefort. You can also consider orbital rim or (sub)malar implants.
  5. ❗ Who is the best user on here to DM about surgery and aesthetics with my face type?
    Who knows.
  6. Suggestions on non-surgical routes that could help
For the issues described? Nothing non-surgical out there. But you can still softmaxx a few things about yourself, skincare is the first thing I'd do, looks like you have comedones and likely oily skin too. Retinoids in the pm and maybe a niacinamide serum in the am, sunscreen and cleansing as needed.
  7. Honest critique of whether I’m low-tier normie or worse
By general standards? High LTN. By phenotypical standards? You're MTN.
  8. Tips on how to find the absolute BEST surgeon (UK preferred but I’ll travel for a god-tier surgeon)
Wish I had any idea but I'm not from the UK.

Guys im recessed and downgrown look :forcedsmile::forcedsmile:
Also look at my chin, on frontal I have too much upper eyelid exposure and eye area is generally shit and dorsal hump on nose which is can be caused be downward growth I know it isn't genetic since my dad and mom all have a straight nose and siblings

i think you need to grow out your hair and i dont think u need double jaw surgery
Bro I would look the exact same and still have recession and all the other issues I mentioned with hair.

Your not downgrown, ur upper skull is very recessed compared to ur lower third making you think it looks downgrown and very ethnic. You need a cranio implant. This a quick morph on hown it should look like

Bro as I was reading this it felt like I was reading about myself

You’ll be okay after surgeries but you need to get dreads asap or any appealing hairstyle, you’ll never be socially registered as nt otherwise and it’ll destroy any chances of slaying in the future

Your not downgrown, ur upper skull is very recessed compared to ur lower third making you think it looks downgrown and very ethnic. You need a cranio implant. This a quick morph on hown it should look like
never morph again that looks subhuman

Need brutal honesty. I've been researching for weeks, but I still feel lost. I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I have major downward growth, and it’s destroying my entire facial structure. My brow ridge, maxilla, and orbitals all appear recessed due to this. My face lacks projection. My lower third is long, chin weak, and midface flat. It’s textbook vertical growth + recession — and it’s not just aesthetics. It’s destroying my confidence.

I’m 17 and still developing.
