If you have a bigger chin, you don’t need a big ramus, For example, Bale looks good with a short ramus. If you have an average chin, 2 inch ramus is needed. If you have a small chin, rope. Besides, leanness and definition of bones matter more.

you measure ramus by the middle of your ear. The ramus only matters how much it reflects on the front profile. Your side profile does not need to be asethic in order to be attractive

Long enough so that your gonial angle can be low and your chin can still have decent height. Good luck having a good lower third with short ramus.
